Welcome!

Thank you so much for checking out my new Website, A New Potential. This has been long in the making, as everything seems to take much longer these days! But I wanted to start by telling you My Story, so you are aware of where I am coming from, in my endeavors.

On July 23, 2023, I suffered an anuerysm and subsequent stroke, and I was in the hospital for 5 weeks, 4 of those being Neuro ICU. When we came home, that was the beginning for me, as I have no memory of anything from the day before my anuerysm, and for many months after we got home.

I have come a long way, and I am so grateful for my trials as well as the path it has taken me. I believe that God had his hands on me from the very beginning, as everything fell into place, at the right time and with the right people. I continue to search for that purpose He has for me. I feel so very blessed. This last year has been my most clear, and my most evident of the challenges, the subtle losses, and my new quest for life. I know that sounds cliche, but as I start my new business, these things will become more clear.

I came to learn that there are many platforms out there for survivors of stroke, brain trauma and other such losses. But none, that I have found, that were pioneered by a patient, let alone one who was a Registered Nurse for 40+ years. So, I took the leap (step, really) and thought, "Why not?"

One thing we discovered, is there is truly a disconnect, between what is available for the survivor and what there is for the caregiver. And I believe this is a disservice to those amazing people who sacraficed so much to learn what they needed to learn to care for their family member, or loved one. This last year I have made it my goal, to learn more, to be more aware, of all those things related to my, and others, journey. And what a whirlwind it has been!
